St Mary’s School, Mohali, celebrated World Translation Day with a special morning assembly highlighting the power of languages and cultural connection. The programme began with a prayer and thought for the day, followed by anchoring that explained the importance of translation in uniting the world. Students recited a poem on languages and greeted everyone in different languages like ‘Namaste, Bonjour, Hola, and Konnichiwa’. A speech by a Class X student emphasised how translation builds understanding among nations. The highlight was an act by classes VIII and X, showing funny and meaningful situations of mistranslation. The principal appreciated the students’ efforts and encouraged them to value every language as a bridge to global harmony.
