 Prize winners of the essay competition “Nehru, Democracy and Enlightened Nationalism” organised by the Nehru Vichar Manch were awarded today in Chandigarh.

 Vani Garg, Aryan Vashisht, Avantika, Ratan Deep, Bhoomi, Mehak, Aditi Kaur and Sahil Singh were among the winners of the essay competition organised in English, Hindi and Punjabi. Students of various schools in the tricity had participated in the competition. Three awards of Rs 5000, Rs 3000 and Rs 2000, along with a book and certificate were given to the winners. 

 Founder of the Manch and former Union Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal in his message from Delhi said Jawahar Lal Nehru had played a major role in making India a sovereign, socialist, secular and democratic republic and it was important for the new generation to understand the contribution of the stalwarts of the freedom struggle in laying the foundations of our country.
