Students celebrate National Doctor's Day through various online activities


Shemford Futuristic School, Pinjore

National Doctor's Day was celebrated with enthusiasm. Students participated in various activities such as role-play, show-and-tell, model making, poem and article writing. These contributions were a salute to the doctors working in the forefront amid pandemic. They also participated in an online interactive session with Head Teenu Jolly and shared jokes to mark the International Joke Day.


Manav Rachna International School, Mohali

To mark National Doctor’s Day, students expressed their gratitude towards doctors for their selfless services especially during the current Covid pandemic. They were shown video highlighting contributions of the medical fraternity to the society. Pupils paid their respects by saluting and clapping for them.


Amity International School, Mohali

The curtains on the virtual fortnight-long summer camp came down. Learning, coupled with fun and excitement, witnessed during the camp was overwhelming. Around 200 entries were received from across India and abroad. Various modules like craft, physical exercise, yoga, DIY and public speaking were given by teachers. Acclaimed professionals Rahul Gupta and Vijay Sharma imparted training for dance and theatre, respectively. Budding stars amassed great skills in areas like music, dance, science, fitness, theatre and critical thinking. The grand finale was a treat for parents and faculty as the students left no stone unturned to put their best foot forward. A live parliamentary debate championship highlighted oratory competence and analytical thinking of pupils who debated on ‘Feasibility and viability of schools opening in July after pandemic’. Principal Urvashi Kakkar appreciated the efforts of students and teachers.

Manav Rachna International School, Mohali

  • An online activity was organised for kindergarteners to make them learn about the concept of ‘sorting’ and reflect upon their understanding. Children thoroughly enjoyed collecting and sorting out different objects based on their colour, shape and size. The activity helped in improving their motor skills as pupils showcased their scholastic sides in an artistic way.

DAV Public School, Ambala Cantt

Students, along with their parents, exhibited their talent in an online singing competition. Jasmeet of Class VIII, Divjot of Class VII and Hazel of Class VI shared the first position followed by Bhoomika of Class VIII, Ritviz of Class VII and Mansi of Class VI. Chetan of Class VIII, Tushita of Class VII and Mishta and Shirin of Class VI stood third.


Sri Sukhmani International School, Dera Bassi

The International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking was observed, wherein various activities were conducted to create awareness and instil a sense of responsibility among students. Students participated in various contests online like poster making, slogan writing and article writing on the theme of drugs. The Principal and management members appreciated the students’ efforts.


Shemford Futuristic School, Pinjore

The school conducted online sessions on ‘Teachers and parents — together we help our children navigate online learning’. It was designed to orient the parents about handling the challenges of e-learning. The session was taken up by Head Teenu Jolly and Director Bimla Arora. Jolly guided the parents on the role they needed to play in equipping their children for virtual learning. She said parents, teachers and students needed to work as a team to make e-learning a success. Bimla Arora suggested 5Ms to mothers who now has to play varied roles— of a manager, motivator, mentor and monitor.
