Online teaching remains the only option during the Covid 19 times. Almost all the schools including play-way, government and private ones have started providing education to students through various online modes.

While some teachers send the videos, others ask students to join classes on Zoom. There are many who take classes through Google meet or Microsoft teams etc. The teachers try hard to conduct classes in a manner so that the students get to understand the entire chapters. At the same time, through some of these Apps, the students start creating indiscipline and nuisance in the classes, making it difficult for teachers to continue with the smooth classes.

The teachers conducting classes through Zoom etc provide a link to the students through which they enter the online class rooms.

“But the students provide these links to their mischievous friends, who enter into the class-rooms and start creating indiscipline. Recently, they started asking me weird, personal questions, which landed me in awkward situations. After 20 minutes, I had to discontinue with the class. Though we try to find who these could be but students shield each other”, said the teacher of a leading school here, wishing not to be quoted.

A Class XI girl student from another reputed school here said that at times, students start sending objectionable material through fake identities in the class, which is very embarrassing for other students and teachers. “As a student we feel that we all are naughty but the present times are difficult and none had expected to face such a situation. In this scenario, students need to be disciplined else we will not be able to grasp”, said the student.

To maintain discipline, many teachers ask the students to switch on their cameras, show them their faces, the school uniform or the books with them. “They can not do more than that”, said another student Asmi.

 Counselor’s take:

Nita Khanna from Sacred Heart Convent Senior Secondary School said that many complaints are coming in which students create nuisance. “Now the parents have the major role to play in this. They should sit with them while classes are going on. Their sitting in-front of ward is enough to make the latter disciplined. The teachers, school managements are making a lot of efforts so that year of students is not wasted and parents and students too should take the online classes seriously”, said Khanna.
