Students participated in an online yoga session, wherein they performed various asanas, to spread the message of the importance of yoga in everyone’s life. As many as 180 teachers and NSS volunteers performed yoga from their homes under the initiative ‘Yoga from Home, Yoga with Family’. Other learners signed up with the Ministry of AYUSH to perform asanas with their families. The Principal, along with the programme officers of NSS and PTIs joined the session at 7 am with yoga trainer Anurag Arora. The yoga session started with the chanting of ‘om’ followed by warm-up exercises. The live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also shown before the session commenced.
Stepping Stones Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh
To mark International Yoga Day, the school conducted a virtual yoga session with students, staff and their families. The session commenced with the sharing of the message from PM Narendra Modi which was followed by yoga, breathing techniques and meditation. Students were told about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and various ways to improve their immunity. The aim was to encourage the students to stay active and healthy in these difficult times.

Students made beautiful thank-you cards for their fathers to acknowledge their efforts in raising and nurturing their families. Fathers, while expressing their feelings on the occasion, appreciated the efforts of the school authorities for celebrating Father’s Day. Principal Shuchi Grover appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers who made Father’s Day a memorable day amid the Covid-19 pandemic situation.
DAV Police Public School, Panchkula
The school celebrated International Yoga Day on the theme ‘Yoga at Home, Yoga with Family’ on a digital platform. A 40-minute video shoot was prepared with sports educator. The video included demonstrations on warm up sessions and easy asanas. Headmistress Upasana Sharma urged students to practise yoga to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

International Yoga Day was observed by staff, students and parents who performed asanas at their homes. Principal Pooja Sharma motivated and appreciated the staff members, students and parents for their continuous support.
Comet Mensa Senior Secondary Public School, Dehri
The school celebrated International Yoga Day and Father’s Day through an e-class programme, wherein children participated in many online activities. Parents, along with children and teachers, performed yoga with great enthusiasm. The children chanted ‘om’ and performed bhramari, anulom-vilom, kapalbhati, padmasana, etc. Children also prepared special greeting cards for their fathers and expressed their respect and love for them. Teachers also told students about the solar eclipse. Managing Director Vasu Soni expressed his well wishes to the children on the occasion and advised them to incorporate yoga in their lives.
Shemford Futuristic School, Himshikha, Pinjore
Students celebrated Father’s Day as they made greeting cards and gifts for their fathers with the help of their teachers. Pupils also prepared goodies on the special day. They played games and watched movies with their families. They also clicked photographs and made videos which were uploaded on the school website.
