Students take part in fun activities at school

Shivalik Public School, Chandigarh

The school celebrated Grandparents Day. Students of classes VI to VIII met their grandparents and spent their day with them. Meanwhile, an online quiz was organised to create awareness about the Ozone layer. Students of the middle block participated enthusiastically in the quiz. Such type of activities raised awareness among young learners and helped in motivating students to reduce and recycle waste materials. The teachers told students that they can protect the ozone layer by recycling, planting and not using excess of electronics that will have a negative effect on the ozone layer. 

Gurukul Global School, Chandigarh

Aryan Laroia, a Class X student, has achieved a lot of success at this tender age. He has been a student of the school since UKG. He is a self-enthusiast and self-motivated child. Over the years, he has developed many skills, including blog writer, game developer and golfer etc. He has been a social worker and is associated with an organ donation camp ' Pledge to Donate'. Currently he is working as an intern with WNS Global- Australia to study the Australian Insurance market. He is also working on the aspects of Business Process Management and Outsourcing. Aryan has the affiliations of a Brand Ambassador of Owlpia and Volunteer -PGIMER ROTTO. He has also achieved the title of 'Champion of the Year (2018-19) and Excellence in Academics (2018-19).

MCM DAV Public School, Baghni, Nurpur

Muskan Choudhary has been selected in the state-level event 'Shiromani'.The event was organised by Arya Pratinidhi Sabha, Himachal Pradesh. About 3,000 students from all over the country participated in it. Principal MR Rana congratulated Muskan on her achievement.

Manav Rachna International School, Mohali

Children of Class I created their personal castles using various 3D shapes. The scholars were taught about the properties of various 3D shapes during their Numeracy sessions and were encouraged to use different waste materials like empty containers and foil roles to create their mesmerising shape castles. This gave children an opportunity to not only understand various shapes but also took them one step closer to being environment-friendly builders. The Principal applauded the efforts of children.

Delhi Public School, Ambala

The school celebrated the UN International Day of Peace with the theme: Peace & Harmony. As a part of this endeavour, the school organised different online activities for students. Tiny tots were shown inspirational videos on peace. Students of classes III to VI showed their artistic skills by making the symbol of peace 'Dove'. Children of Class VII came up with their creative writings on the theme. Students of Class VIII expressed their emotions by writing poetry while students of classes IX to XII made a peace flag to express their feelings and willingness to take initiatives to formulate a peaceful society. Principal Amita Dhaka appreciated the efforts of children and gave a message to promote peace in all walks of their life as it is high time to make the world a peaceful paradise.

St Joseph Sr Sec School, Chandigarh

To spread the fragrance of our mother tongue Hindi among Pre-KG children, an online Hindi recitation competition was organised to mark 'Hindi Diwas'. Keeping the various aspects of poetry, the tiny tots came up with a number of poems based on different topics such as corona virus, lockdown, trees, environment, mother, save girl child etc. Children enjoyed expressing their thoughts and feelings in Hindi. It nurtured in them, immense love for their mother tongue.

KB DAV Senior Secondary Public School, Chandigarh

In a drive to create awareness about the importance of the Ozone layer amongst students, the school celebrated 35 years of the Vienna Convention and 35 years of Global Ozone Layer Protection. The Eco Club organised poster-making and video making competition for classes IV to X. The theme of the competition was "OZONE- ROOF FOR LIFE". Learners made beautiful posters and videos depicting sustainable development goals protecting the environment and natural resource, measures of protection from excessive UV radiations and selecting goods without ozone-depleting substances. Students of classes VIII to X participated in an online quiz organised by the South Asian Meteorological Association.

Amity International School, Mohali

Students of Class V prepared a 3-D model of the honey bee hive. The Amitians prepared this architectural wonder by using coloured papers, cotton, and plastic spoons. While working on this model, students learnt the importance of living together. They were amazed to learn how thousands of honey bees work in an organised manner to operate in a group. The bees start the construction of the hive from two-three different places and weave the honeycomb simultaneously in two-three strings. Though they start from different places, the bees, large in numbers, construct identical hexagons and then weave the honeycomb by combining these together and meeting in the middle.

Ryan International School, Mohali

Students celebrated World Peace Day virtually. Taking a pledge to spread the message of peace, students participated in various activities like Intercultural and interfaith dialogues, meditation and prayer, writing peace poetry, universal peace statement writing, what peace means to me, fingerprint dove display and many more. All the students were told the importance of promoting a harmonious and peaceful society.

Woodstock Senior Secondary Public School, Batala

An online declamation competition for classes VII to IX was held on the topic 'Gender Equality' (English), women empowerment (Punjabi) and Today's Empowered Girls Are Tomorrow's Empowered Women (Hindi). About 25 students participated. Jasmeet (English Dept), Ravinder (Punjabi Deptt), Deepjyoti (Hindi Dept) were the judges. Chairman Dr Satnam Singh Nijjar, Chairperson Dr Satinderjit Nijjar and Principal Ancy acknowledged the efforts of the students, parents and staff members and blessed all the winners.

Reekrit Serai, Managing Director, Satluj Group of Schools (Satluj Public Schools, Satluj World Schools, Little Satluj Pre-Schools), has been honoured and included in the list of BW Business World 40 Under 40 Club of Achievers in Education. Delhi Public School, Chandigarh

The third segment of the Early Learning Series programme was organised for students of the Pre-primary wing. Students from classes Nursery to ll confidently spoke on the various themes like 'Eat Well, Live Well', 'Rumble in the Jungle', 'Community Heroes', 'Nurture Nature'. With their parents as audience and the students dressed in costumes, they sang a melodious song and enthused one and all present during the online session.
