An online MUN was conducted, the profits of which were used for donating masks, sanitizers and food items for people in need. Three students Armaan Singh, Navroop Shergill and Eknoor Matharoo distributed masks and sanitizers to vegetable sellers, food delivery men of Zomato and Swiggy, sanitation and construction workers, local restaurants and security guards. Those without masks were given masks and were also told about the importance of wearing masks.
Sharda Sarvhitkari Model Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh
With schools shut across the world, millions of children have now adapted to new types of learning. To make learning more accessible to students, Head of Vedic maths Jyoti Tewari prepared 100 videos and uploaded these on the YouTube. Vedic maths increases speed and accuracy not just in maths but in other activities as well. She has also uploaded several videos on her Facebook account so that it could reach maximum students. Various topics such as writing tables quickly, multiplication of 3-digit numbers in a single line, division of bigger numbers without actual division, finding squares, cubes, square roots and cube roots orally, and more topics were covered which will be helpful for students not only for their textbook syllabus but also in competitive exams.
DAV Public School, Manali
Children participated with fervour in online activities organised by the school. A fancy dress competition was organised for classes I and II. In Class II, from sections rose and lotus, Trisha and Navya, Divyansh Sharma, Veenuka and Satya Thakur clinched the first position, while Sidhansh, Divishi and Yuvraj got the second position. Anirudh and Saksham shared the third position. In Class I, from sections lily and rose Shiven Saklani and Dazel Karpa, and Sanvi shared the first position, while Navya Thakur, Sukriti Gupta and Mannat, and Yuvraj got the second position. Aliya, Ariyma and Awni Bhardwaj, Himayni and Ridhima Rana clinched the third position. Principal RS Rana appreciated the efforts of the children and encouraged them to continue participating in the activities. He congratulated the concerned teachers as well for coming up with such innovative ideas and executing them successively with the students.

The school organised online contests like poster making, sketching, photography and digital state-level competition on corona awareness. More than 472 children took part in senior group (Group – 1) and junior group (Group – II) from Haryana. In the senior group, the first cash prize of Rs 1,100 was awarded to Rujuta Chugh of Jankidas Kapur Public School, Sonepat, second prize of Rs 700 was bagged by Navkirat Kaur of Lord Krishna Public School, Ugala, and third prize of Rs 500 was given to Simpy Saikia of APS, Ambala Cantt. Consolation prizes of gift hampers were awarded to Anvi of Convent Sacred Heart School, Siddarth Kant of Army Public School, Ambala Cantt, and Palwinder Kaur of Shemford School, Barara. In the junior group, first prize of Rs 1,100 was bagged by Aayush of RS Public Sr Sec School, second prize of Rs 700 was awarded to Palwinder Kaur of Shemford Public School, Barara, and third prize of Rs 500 was given to Pulkit Malhotra of DAV, Gurgaon. Consolation prize winners were Mayank Bedi of Army Public School, Ambala Cantt, Khushi Gupta of RS Public Sr Sec School, Karnal, and Krishna of KV 3, Ambala Cantt.
Gurukul Global School, Chandigarh
The school successfully transitioned from real to virtual teaching under the vision of Director Parveen Setya and Principal Neena Pandey. Hundreds of video clips sent by the students are the testimony to this fact. Another novel initiative was the Virtual Summer Camp conducted online by the school. The students had exposure to various genres of dance, music, art and craft. It was a great respite to parents to see their children constructively engaged even during this pandemic.
