The opening ceremony of the XVII CBSE Clusters Basketball (Boys and Girls) and Kho-Kho (Boys) Tournament, hosted this year by the school, was a grand event, well punctuated with a beautiful cultural programme. Fifty-five teams for basketball and 15 teams for kho-kho from different schools from Punjab and Chandigarh are participating in the various events for U-14, U-17 and U-19 (boys and girls) categories. The ceremony was formerly inaugurated by chief guest DSP Karnail Singh as well as CBSE Observers Geetansh Rajpal and Sanjeev Kumar, who were warmly welcomed with bouquets and mementos. The lighting of the ceremonial lamp by all the dignitaries followed soon after. All the contingents then took the oath, promising to abide by all the rules to ensure fair play throughout the tournament. ‘Shabad Gayan’ was presented by students. The chief guest then addressed the gathering. A vote of thanks was presented by school Principal Rekha Gupta.
