Taekwondo stars bring laurels to Saint Soldier School

The young taekwondo stars of Saint Soldier International School, Sector 28-B, Chandigarh, continue to make the institution proud with their remarkable achievements at various competitive platforms. Deepanshu (U-14, under 41 kg category) has been selected for the SGFI (School Games Federation of India) Taekwondo Championship, while Aayush Sharma has also earned selection for the SGFI under-17 Boys’ Taekwondo Championship 2025. Adding to this proud accomplishment, Keerat Kaur has been selected for the SGFI under-17 Girls’ Taekwondo Championship 2025, marking a significant milestone in her sporting journey. The students delivered outstanding performances at the Chandigarh Taekwondo State Championship, held at the Sports Complex, Sector 56, Chandigarh. Among the remarkable achievers, Keerat Kaur, Yash and Harjot Singh earned the distinction of being selected to represent Chandigarh at the Cadet National Taekwondo Championship 2025. In the Cadet Girls ‘division, Keerat Kaur of Class VIII (under 55 kg category) displayed outstanding technique and focus to claim the gold medal, while Palak Lohtiya of Class IX (under 51 kg category) impressed with her agility and precision, earning the bronze medal. The Cadet Boys’ contingent too made a powerful mark. Yash of Class VIII (under 61 kg category) and Harjot Singh of Class XI (over 65 kg category) dominated their respective bouts to secure gold medals. Meanwhile, Imanpreet Singh of Class VII (over 65 kg category) and Yogit of Class VIII (under 49 kg category) showcased grit and discipline to bag silver medals, adding further glory to the team's overall performance. Principal Anisha Ghuman congratulated the budding champions for their remarkable accomplishments and extended her best wishes for their upcoming national and SGFI championships.
