Pranavjit Singh, Class VIII, DAV Public School, Patiala
The pandemic has turned the whole world topsy turvy. But while the whole world is struggling, the education sector has witnessed the emergence of a new era. This is the era of virtual classrooms. The concept may seem unrealistic to the older generation but for the students caught in the “storm” of Covid, this is a reality that is saving the day for them. However, many Indian parents as well teachers seem to be struggling with the ongoing virtual learning space. Further, it is opined by the teachers that it is actually a difficult task to engage the students in an online platform. The teaching output is also not at satisfactory levels as per the traditional education system of India.
Apart from the books, value additions based on technology are giving children a chance to explore new subjects and topics. The gloomy time of pandemic has given ample time to students to move beyond the traditional ways of learning.
So, the time of traditional blackboards has passed and technology has stepped into the classrooms.
“Balance is Beneficial”
Mehakpreet Kaur, Class XI, The Senior Study II, Amritsar
Whenever we think of the word ‘balance’, the first image that comes to our mind is that of a girl walking on a rope with a rod in her hands. However, we need to broaden our minds and think of alternative meanings.
Balance is also the equilibrium that one maintains in his or her life. Be it a man who has to balance his love and affection between his wife and mother or students who have to balance between studies and other co curricular activities.
The life of every individual is full of challenges. The life of an infant has the challenge of moving from crawling to taking its first step. The one decision that affects our life should be made by keeping the equilibrium of life in mind.
In every aspect of our lives, we need to maintain our equilibrium. Let’s take the example of a student who has to study more than ten hours a day to achieve the grades she desires but on the other hand, she is an outstanding skater. She has the ability in this sport which many don’t usually have. However, she has to study a lot which leaves her no time to enhance her capability.
In situations like these, we need to think wisely and with patience. We can introduce a system in our lives by our own efforts only. Maintaining a balance by dividing precious time for each task can make us very productive and we can end up saving some time for the work we actually want to do, for our own satisfaction.
The life of a student has its own struggles and perks. They have to study a lot in order to keep up with the raising level of competition. But their lives are not only books and study, they have personal life too. Students must learn to cope up with studies and take some time out for other activities too. I try to balance my desire to score more than 90 per cent with my passion for baking, drawing and calligraphy. With the assistance of my friends I have opened an art channel on a social networking site to exhibit my talent. It’s rightly said ‘You will never find time for anything. If you want time, you must make it!’
