Tarn Taran girl Mehakpreet Kaur is role model for new generation

Mehakpreet Kaur, a student of Class XII of Government Girls Senior Secondary Smart School, Aladinpur, Tarn Taran, has some extraordinary qualities that make her a role model for the new generation. She is an outstanding student, a disciplined learner and state-level sportswoman besides possessing other qualities. As her mother passed away about two years back, she performs all the duties at home being the eldest among three siblings which makes her a homemaker too. She is well trained in kitchen affairs. Preparing meals and looking after the cattle are also part of her domestic work. She is also trained in farm work though the family has just one acre of agricultural land. Her father is a truck driver who has no fixed working hours and it disturbs the routine and studies of Mehakpreet Kaur. Kanwalpreet Kaur, a physical education teacher, who guides her in sports, said Mehakpreet Kaur is the captain of the school teams of national and circle style kabaddi. She has participated in state-level tourneys after winning at the zonal and district level tournaments. School Principal Arwinder Kaur said Mehakpreet Kaur not only gives a remarkable performance in sports, but also is good at studies. She got 91 per cent marks in her Class X exams, said the principal. Partap Singh Thathgarh, her class in charge, said Mehakpreet Kaur never misses her class except on days when she takes part in the zonal, district and state-level tournaments. Mehakpreet Kaur said she dreams of taking part in national and international-level kabaddi tournaments. She takes a balanced diet and avoids junk food. Principal Arwinder Kaur said the school has high hopes on Mehakpreet Kaur and she is a role model for the new generation.
