Teaching staff back at 100% at govt schools ahead of bi-monthly exams

The teaching staff at all government schools in district returned with 100 per cent staff attendance as they prepare for the upcoming bi-monthly examination that will begin from July 5 onwards. In a recent letter by the Department of Personnel, the staff of all government offices were asked to return to 100 per cent capacity after restrictions were relaxed and it included teaching and non-teaching staff of government schools.

With datesheet of bi-monthly examinations for classes I to XII already being released, the teachers are now preparing to conduct online examinations.

The bi-monthly examination will be conducted in MCQ format, question papers prepared will be shared with students and they will be given time to fill and send it back. “The question papers are being prepared for the same and the exams will be mostly conducted in open format. Students will be given flexibility of time, in case they are using their parents’s phone. Buddy groups that had been formed for online classes, will be used to maximise the success of this system of exam,” said Pankaj Sharma, a government school teacher from Bhoewali.

In addition, the teachers are also taking hand on training in operating smart classrooms that have been set up in schools for conduct of online classes once summer break is over. The discourse of online classes have depended heavily on buddy groups and the efforts of teachers, like taking care of monthly phone recharges for students, who cannot afford it.
