Instructions for attempting the exam
1. Show all your work: For problems that require calculations or step-by-step solutions, be sure to show all your work. This will help you earn partial credit even if your final answer is incorrect.
2.Review your answers: If time permits, review your answers before submitting the exam. Check for any errors or omissions and make necessary corrections on the spot.
In a mathematics exam, students should consider starting with the following types of questions:
1. Easy, familiar questions: Beginning with questions that are familiar and relatively easy can help students build confidence and momentum.
2. Questions with multiple parts: Some questions may have multiple parts, and students might be more comfortable with certain parts. Starting with the parts they are most confident about can help them gain momentum and manage their time effectively.
3. Choice-based questions: If the exam offers choices within sections, students can start with questions they feel most confident about.
It’s important to note that the order of attempting questions can vary based on individual student preferences and exam formats. Encouraging students to read through the entire paper and strategising their approach based on their strengths and comfort levels is also beneficial. I encourage each of you to approach the mathematics exam with diligence and a positive attitude. Remember that your hard work and preparation will pay off. I wish you all the best for your upcoming exam.
