The number of school students taking Whatsapp-based quiz in HP swells to 2.25 lakh in three months

The number of students of elementary grades (Class I to VIII) of government schools, participating in WhatsApp-based weekly assessment module in the form of a quiz organised under Har Ghar Pathshala programme of state education department has increased from 40,000 to 2,25,000 in the past three months.

The quiz for students of classes IX to XII launched on September 26 recorded a participation of over 90,000 students in the first week itself. This was stated by a spokesperson of the department who added that the Artificial Intelligence-enabled quiz chatbot developed by ConveGenius asks learning-outcome based multiple choice questions to students and the students answer the questions as if they are chatting with someone.

Students are tested on two subjects every week on the syllabus covered in the previous week.

The chatbot is designed ihn a way that students can register themselves by entering their name, class and school UDISE code.

The students can choose between Hindi and English as their preferred medium and multiple students can participate from one phone, quiz.

At places where students do not have their own phone, teachers are providing their phones to enable them to attempt the quiz questions, the spokesperson added.

After attempting the quiz, the students immediately receive the answer key.

Among the many new features added in the quiz, students now receive remedial videos on the basis of their performance, allowing them to work on areas that need improvement.

Moreover, in order to track the participation of students, a live dashboard has also been created which shows the participation and performance of the students at district, block, school, and grade level.
