The Sixth Tribune Trust Sports Festival commenced at the school with great enthusiasm and fervour, bringing together athletes and sports enthusiasts from across the region. The opening ceremony witnessed a vibrant display of unity and passion for sports, featuring thrilling matches of handball and netball for under-16 boys’ and girls’ categories. The event was inaugurated by Om Prakash, Deputy Secretary, Sports (retd), former Indian Volleyball Team Captain, Bhim Awardee, Dhyan Chand Lifetime Achievement Awardee by President of India. The event commenced with an invigorating address by Principal Rani Poddar. The sixth Tribune Trust Sports Festival aims to nurture talent, encourage healthy competition, and celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship, marking a significant step towards fostering a culture of physical fitness and excellence in the community. On the opening day, boys of Guru Nanak Khalsa School, Sector 30, Chandigarh, emerged victorious in the handball match against Ankur School, Sector 14, Chandigarh, by securing 11 goals against 1; DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, Chandigarh, won against Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 16, Chandigarh, by securing 24 goals against 22 and The Tribune School, Sector 29-D, Chandigarh, won against Ashiana Public School, Sector 46, Chandigarh, by securing 11 goals against 3 showcasing exceptional skill and determination. In the netball match, girls of The Tribune School showcased exceptional teamwork and skill, securing a decisive victory over St Xavier’s School, Sector 44, Chandigarh, with a final score of 18 goals against 5. Girls of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 20, secured a hard-fought victory against Ashiana Public School, Sector 46, Chandigarh, in netball match with a score of 8 goals against 1.
