Shimla, October 29
Education Minister Govind Singh Thakur today launched three new elementary, higher and vocational channels of JioTV in which the e-content of every subject of Classes I to XII will be made available.
In view of the Covid-19 threat, the state government has been successfully running the 'Har Ghar Patshala' programme from Pre-Nursery to Class XII through WhatsApp. The 'Gyanshala' programme for Classes X and XII through Doordarshan Shimla is also drawing a good response.
The online content is being prepared by 200 teachers (state resource group). The Deputy Director, Education, and the District Programme Officers are also contributing to make the programme a success.
On August 20, the state government had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with JioTV to reach out to more students.
The Education Minister said two more educational channels would be launched soon.
“If any student is unable to view the e-content as per the subject schedule, then the missed e-content will be available in catchup throughout the week," he said.
At the same time, the department was ensuring that the same material was made available to the students through the 'Har Ghar Patshala' programme, he said.
Secretary, Education, Rajiv Sharma, State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha, Ashish Kohli and representative of JioTV Rohit Puri were present.
