How is your school integrating tech in classroom learning?

As the Principal of Garden Valley International School, I firmly believe that education must evolve with time, and technology is a vital part of that evolution. We have taken several initiatives to integrate digital tools into daily classroom experiences. Smart Classrooms have been introduced in all wings, allowing our teachers to use visuals, animations, and multimedia content to make concepts clearer and more engaging. We’ve embraced digital transformation through smart boards and online learning platforms. Our educators use blended learning models to personalise instruction, making learning more engaging and accessible.

What are the cultural and extra-curricular highpoints of your school in the past year?

This year, our vibrant club culture — ranging from dance, music, and art to science and eco clubs — created engaging platforms for student expression. The science exhibition was a major highlight, showcasing creativity and innovation. Cultural events, inter-house competitions, and stage performances brought out the best in our students, nurturing confidence, collaboration, and talent. These activities not only enriched students’ creative expression but also fostered scientific thinking, leadership, and holistic development.

Innovation has become an important part of school curriculum, how have you incorporated it?

I believe innovation must be embedded in everyday learning. We have introduced project-based learning across grades. Our students actively participate in innovation fairs and inter-school idea challenges. Through dedicated innovation labs and experiential teaching, we aim to develop problem-solving, creativity, and future-ready skills.

What is your long-term vision for transforming education?

My vision is to transform education into a journey of discovery, where every child feels inspired to learn, lead, and innovate. I aspire to build a future-ready learning environment rooted in values, creativity, and global awareness where education empowers students not just to make a living, but to make a difference.

What skills are important for students in this tech-driven age and what steps has your school taken to instil these?

Today’s learners must be digitally aware, creative, and adaptable. At our school, we follow the principle of learning by doing hands-on activities, group projects, and real-world problem-solving tasks. These experiential methods help students build critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills essential for success in a tech-driven world.

Have any mental health measures been taken to ensure holistic growth of students?

Yes, we strongly believe that emotional well-being is the foundation of true learning. Teachers are trained to identify early signs of stress, and a safe, open environment is encouraged to ensure every child feels supported and heard. We are deeply committed to the emotional and ethical growth of our students. Along with counselling, yoga sessions, and wellness weeks, we conduct regular activities that promote values like empathy, gratitude, integrity, and respect. Peer support groups and mindfulness sessions help create a positive, balanced, and inclusive school environment.
