The budding sports star of Valley Public School, MDC-5, Panchkula, created a notable niche in the sports arena as two students Avin (Class III) and Tejasvini (Class V) claimed silver medals in U-11 state-level wrestling competition. organised at Rohtak. Principal Dr Umamaheswari lauded the winners and their coaches. She inspired the students saying that they must participate in games to be physically fit and mentally alert.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
