Students of Class III of the preparatory wing of the school staged their Thematic Assembly titled ‘Virasat-E-Punjab, Sadda Punjab, Saddi Shaan’. It was a symphony of music, dance and theatre in which all the students of Class III got an opportunity to showcase their talent. All students convincingly brought the vibrant hues of Punjab alive on stage. The event started with seeking Almighty’s blessings in a ‘shabad’. The tableau representing Punjab’s rich culture and heritage was also well appreciated. The students spoke eloquently about Punjab’s historic contribution to the armed forces, agricultural prowess, music, dance as well as art and craft landscape of the state. Students also gave a glimpse of the rural games played in the nooks and corners of Punjab. ‘Jugni’, Punjabi song ‘Jind Mahi Je Chaleyo’, English rap song ‘Punjab’ and skit ‘Virasat-E Punjab’ by students struck a chord with the audience. Gidda performance by girls was enjoyable. Punjabi poem on Puinjabi ‘Virsa’ was recited. The bhangra performance was the showstopper which received a huge applause from the audience. Director Maj Gen TPS Waraich VSM (retired) congratulated the students as well as staff for a magnificent show and encouraged the parents to be supportive of their wards’ efforts. The show ended with a vote of thanks from the preparatory wing in charge Nanak Kaur Bhullar.
