A three-day workshop on “Empowering Principals for 21st-Century Education” was organised by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Zonal Institute of Education & Training, Chandigarh. The workshop was inaugurated by Shruti Bhargava, Deputy Commissioner & Director, ZIET, Chandigarh, who emphasised the need for visionary and adaptive school leadership to meet the educational challenges of the 21st century. In her address, she highlighted the evolving role of principals in leading innovation and ensuring quality education in the rapidly changing academic landscape. A total of 50 principals from Dehradun, Delhi, Jammu, Chandigarh, and Gurugram regions of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan participated in the programme. The sessions were conducted by resource persons Deepika Sandhu, Principal, KV No 1 Chandimandir, and Dr Vivek Yadav, Principal, KV, Andrews Ganj, New Delhi. During the three days, participants engaged in comprehensive deliberations on important themes, including the National Education Policy 2020, Inclusive Education, creating Safe and Supportive School Environments, SAFAL & PARAKH-based data-driven decision-making, strengthening of FLN, PM SHRI School goals and pillars, new criminal law framework, 21st-century skills, mental health, and stakeholder collaboration. The workshop aimed to strengthen leadership competencies of principals and enable them to effectively steer their schools towards excellence, in alignment with contemporary educational reforms and innovative practices.
