Rishika Rikhi, 17, a student of Delhi Public School, Chandigarh, launched of her maiden poetry collection ‘Celestial Cascades’ at the National Seminar held in Panjab University’s ICSSR Hall recently. The event was attended by literature enthusiasts, aspiring poets, and supporters eager to witness the rise of a promising new talent. ‘Celestial Cascades’ is a collection of 57 poem which explores themes of self-discovery, hope, resilience, and reflecting Rishika’s deep emotions and unique perspective.
During the event, she shared her journey of self-expression through poetry, highlighting the spontaneous outpour of her emotions for her late grandfather who left for his heavenly abode in 2019. She gave the sole credit of her art of poetry to him who was her pillar of strength. The young Miss Rikhi wisely utilised the challenging COVID-19 time in initiating her journey as a poet and triumphed it with dedication and devotion.
“Poetry gave me a voice when I needed it most,” she said. “This book is a piece of my heart, and I hope it resonates with those who read it.” The book launch featured moving poetry recitations, where Rishika mesmerized the audience with her heartfelt words and passionate delivery.
A panel discussion followed, emphasizing the power of poetry in healing, storytelling, and inspiring change. Her book will be available at major bookstores and online platforms soon.
