ChatGPT, OpenAI's artificial intelligence chatbot, back online after global outage
OpenAI's artificial intelligence chatbot ChatGPT is back online hours after facing a global outage.
The chatbot faced significant outages earlier today, preventing millions of users worldwide from accessing it.
The outage was reported as a 'bad gateway error' by the web server, suggesting a communication issue between the website's servers. Users are now able to access the service again. OpenAI said on its status page a fix was implemented at 15:09 GMT. It has not yet publicly commented on the cause of the outage.
Earlier, the outage sparked widespread disruption, with many users relying on ChatGPT for work, education, and other purposes.
Users took to social media to share their experiences and disappointment.
“Can’t believe ChatGPT is down! I was in the middle of a project and now I’m stuck,” tweeted one user on X.
