WhatsApp's latest feature is a blessing for every group chat user

WhatsApp regularly updates its platform. The news of the company working on bringing multi-device support has spread like fire.

But this latest update takes the cake.

The Facebook-owned messaging application is working on another feature which would make using WhatsApp groups a little less annoying.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on a feature called, Mute Always. This feature will allow users to block the exasperating group notifications forever.

Right now, WhatsApp enables users three ways for muting annoying group notifications. This includes eight hours, one week and one year. But now, the company is working on extending this time to block group chat indefinitely.

The blog site also shared a screenshot—which shows WhatsApp replacing the one-year option with ‘Mute Always’ button enabling users to mute unwanted group notifications.

This feature is still in the developmental phase.

However, if you are a beta user, you can try it out by downloading WhatsApp Beta for Android version 2.20.197.3.

Also, WhatsApp comes with a group privacy settings feature that enables users to decide who can add them to new groups. Once enabled, this feature will ensure that users get an invitation before joining a group and that they are not added to a group directly.

If you want to enable this feature, here’s what you need to do: go to Settings > then tap Account > Privacy > Groups and select one of three options: “Everyone,” “My Contacts,” or “My Contacts Except.”
