150 water schemes in Seraj ‘partially restored’

A total of 150 of the 241 drinking water schemes that got damaged due to flash floods in Seraj have been been partially restored.

Deputy Chief Minister and Jal Shakti Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said restoration work of drinking water schemes in the Seraj Assembly segment was being carried out on a war footing.

“The remaining schemes are being actively worked upon. The teams are working round the clock to restore water supply at the earliest,” he said.

He said officers and field staff were working with utmost dedication and commitment. Despite difficult terrain and flooded rivers, officials were reaching remote areas to repair the damaged infrastructure, he added.

Agnihotri said he was personally reviewing the entire relief and restoration work regularly.

“Ensuring safe and uninterrupted drinking water supply to the people is the top priority of the government and no negligence in this regard will be tolerated,” he said.

Agnihotri said the department was fully committed to restore drinking water services in all affected villages of Seraj.
