Willie Garson, who was best known for playing Stanford Blatch in Sex and the City, passed away on Tuesday (September 21). He was 57. His son, Nathen Garson shared the sad news on Instagram and wrote, “I love you so much papa. Rest in Peace. And I’m so glad you got to share all your adventures with me and were able to accomplish so much. I’m so proud of you…” The cause of the death is not disclosed, but reports suggested that Willie was not keeping well. The actor had done notable roles in White Collar, There’s Something About Mary, Little Manhattan and many more. He was even seen in a cameo in FRIENDS (Ross’ neighbour who asks for a contribution to throw a party for a member in the building).
Several celebs took to social media to mourn Willie’s demise. His Sex and the City co-star Cynthia Nixon wrote, “So deeply, deeply sad we have lost @WillieGarson. We all loved him and adored working with him.” Kim Cattrall tweeted, “Such sad news and a terribly sad loss to the SATC family. Our condolences and RIP dear Willie.”
