Chandigarh’s beauty and seduction have spoilt its denizens forever. Sometimes streaming, sometimes pushing, through the noisy and busy mornings to work, its charm has a calming effect with flurry of leaves dancing as you zoom your car through roads laden with trees. The welcome sight of the spectacle of citrine of yellow trumpets, fiery orange of gulmohars, and amethyst jacarandas can bounce anyone’s confidence.

Sometimes, just across a road as we turn to Mohali, the feeling one gets is that this part of the Tricity lacks the brush strokes of an artist. The people residing in City Beautiful can surely see a poet's vision coming true.

Every morning I wake up or rather get called upon through the French windows and curtains by the “busy old fool” — the Sun — in my face with “a sight so touching in its majesty” with its “red hush on the lips of wind”. It curates a whole ‘get-going’ spirit.

My nights in Chandigarh are equally poetic and immersive “…like the night of cloudless climes and starry skies...". When “The only thing between [me] and the moon is the night”. Life here becomes a rhythm that soothes the soul and invigorates the spirit, a poetic dance between the celestial and the terrestrial.
