Kota, a beautiful city of kind people

While posted in Kota, I came across Kansua temple. According to folklore, this ancient temple was part of Kanva rishi’s ashram in the Kansua forest, where Shakuntla lived when her son Bharat was born, after whom Bharat or India is named.

Standing on the banks of the Chambal River, Kota’s architectural beauty is unparalleled. I also found the people of this beautiful city very kind and helpful. Working in an 8-5 job, I would have no time for personal errands. The girl next door, who worked in a bank, opened my bank account, another neighbour arranged for a ration card, while still another one got a driving license made for my wife. Once my car developed some technical snag. But there was nothing to worry as a neighbour called a mechanic and got it fixed before I returned from work.

I am now settled in Jalandhar but I still have fond memories of this beautiful city and its beautiful people.
