Everyone in Mohali knows that traffic signals are mere suggestions. One evening, while waiting at the Phase 7 red light, I noticed something unusual — no one was moving. Not even the bikers who usually wiggle through the gaps. A VIP was coming, someone said. We waited. And waited.

Suddenly, a random uncle in a white Maruti Swift took charge. He honked once, muttered, “Koi nahi aa reha!” (No one’s coming!), and zoomed ahead.

Within seconds, the entire jam self-declared the light green and took off.

Lesson learned: In Mohali, if one car breaks the rules, everyone follows.
