School days in Shimla had a rhythm only the hills could compose—slow, soulful, and full of quiet charm. Mornings meant walking to school through misty lanes, shoes crunching over gravel, fingers tucked into blazer sleeves, and casual chats with friends echoing in the crisp mountain air. Time never hurried; neither did we.

After school, the ritual was set in stone — chowmein and chai at our favourite Sanjauli eatery. Huddled on wooden benches, we traded gossip and homework over spicy noodles and boiling cups of tea, feeling far older than we were. It wasn’t just a snack break — it was therapy with a view.

The bus rides back were pure magic. Windows wide open, wind in our hair, and Kumar Sanu, Alka Yagnik, or Sonu Nigam crooning through rusty speakers. Those 90s melodies weren’t just songs — they were a patented hallmark of our growing up years.

Shimla wasn’t just where we went to school. It’s where life quietly began.
