Parminder Singh from Mann SAD (A) and Gurwinder Singh from the Dal Khalsa, along with members of the Muslim community, led the protest march that moved from different parts of the city and raised slogans against the Union Government for implementing the CAA.

The protest march, which started from Kikkar bazaar, passed through different market areas and busy junctions before coming to end at Hanuman Chowk. The protesters said during their protest shopkeepers were asked to shut their shops in a peaceful manner. Besides, they also raised slogans against the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.

Gurwinder Singh said, “Instead of dealing with issues affecting the people of the nation, the government is busy introducing laws which would pose a threat to the communal harmony of the country and result in erosion of democratic fabric of the nation. In such testing times, it is important that all countrymen stay united and raise their voice so that communal harmony can be protected.” They appealed to people to put up a united face against the policies of the Union Government.
