New Delhi, March 23
Angad Vir Singh Bajwa and Ganemat Sekhon won the only gold on offer at the ISSF World Cup today as they beat the Kazakh pairing of Alexandr Yechshenko and Olga Panarina in the final of the skeet mixed team competition.
The Indian pair won the gold by a comfortable margin of 33-29 to cap of a wonderful competition for the skeet shooters. Today’s win was India’s second on the skeet ranges after the men bagged the team gold yesterday. Ganemat, who became the first Indian woman skeet shooter to win an ISSF World Cup medal on Sunday, had also won the silver in the women’s team competition.
However, the second Indian pair — Mairaj Ahmad Khan and Parinaaz Dhaliwal — missed winning the bronze medal after going down 31-32 to the Qatar pairing of Rashid Hamad and Reem Al-Sharshani.
