Anush fetches Paris Olympics quota in equestrian

Anush Agarwalla has secured a Paris Olympics quota for the country in dressage. Agarwalla, who won a historic individual dressage bronze in the Asian Games last year, was allotted the quota on the basis of his performance in four FEI events. Darya Singh (1980), Indrajit Lamba (1996), Imtiaaz Anees (2000) and Fouaad Mirza (2022) had represented India at the Olympics.

BAM Khalsa College, Garhshankar, logged a 2-0 win over FA Mahilpur in the 61st All Indian Principal Harbhajan Singh Memorial Football Tournament at SGGS Khalsa College, Mahilpur. Maninder Pal Singh scored an own goal in the 13th minute, while Kamaldeep Singh netted Khalsa College’s second in the 40th minute. In the club category, IFC Phagwara defeated STFC Srinagar 2-0, with Rohit Sheikh (2nd and 61st) getting the goals.

IOC won’t change age limit to let Pacquiao compete at Paris
The International Olympic Committee will not change its rules on age limits to let boxing great Manny Pacquiao compete at the Paris Games. Pacquiao, who retired in 2021, wanted to box at age 45 in Paris. The IOC wrote to Olympics officials in Philippines explaining the age limit for boxers of 40 will be upheld. The IOC now oversees Olympics boxing after de-recognising the International Boxing Association governing body.
