A viral photo of England’s Ben Stokes hiding his face anxiously just before the last ball of his team’s fourth test against rivals Australia has the internet empathising with the Englishman.
A series of shots from the match shows a visibly nervous Stokes fidgeting with his T-shirt. The photos have been retweeted several times, with Stokes himself joining in the fun.
Australia needed one wicket to win in the last two overs as James Anderson and Stuart Broad managed to see through the last 12 balls without giving their wicket away. The match finally ended in a draw.
“Ben Stokes was all of us watching that last over! Wow what a ride. So much to love about that match. Test cricket,” Australian cricket journalist Chloe-Amanda Bailey said in a tweet.
