Alberto Rodriguez struck twice as Mohun Bagan Super Giant recorded a come-from-behind 3-1 win over 10-man Punjab FC in the Indian Super League. Punjab drew first blood, courtesy a great strike from Ricky Shabong (12th), whereas the Mariners retaliated with a strong second-half performance which saw Rodriguez (48th, 69th) scoring a brace and Jamie Maclaren (64th) converting from the spot.

Bhavani Rajput stole the show to take UP Yoddhas into the semifinals of Pro Kabaddi League season 11 with a thumping 46-18 win over Jaipur Pink Panthers in the first eliminator. In the second eliminator, Patna Pirates beat U Mumba 31-23 to enter the semis.

Vijayveer wins first 25m rapid fire pistol national title

Punjab’s Vijayveer Sidhu beat fellow Olympian Gurpreet Singh of Army Marksmanship Unit to clinch his maiden men’s 25m rapid fire pistol title at the 67th National Shooting Championship. Paris Olympian Vijayveer got the better of Rio Olympian Gurpreet 28-25 in the title round. Air Force’s Shivam Shukla finished third with a score of 23. Vijayveer shot 581 in the qualifications.
