Sainath is in the hunt for bronze through the repechage round in the 51kg category. In the 110kg category, Ronak Dahiya will play for bronze after losing his semifinal 0-2.

While Ashmita lost 16-21 12-21 to top seed Tai Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei, Malvika was shown the door by Ukraine Polina Buhrova 21-23 19-21.
