Chelsea fan arrested for racially abusing Spurs' Son
London, December 24
The racism crisis which marred Sunday’s Premier League fixture between Tottenham and Chelsea continues to worsen after the Metropolitan Police confirmed a supporter was arrested for racially abusing Son Heung-min today.
The Metropolitan Police also confirmed it is investigating the incident, as well as the Football Association. A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were made aware of alleged racist chanting during the second-half of the Tottenham vs Chelsea match on Sunday, 22 December. Officers will work with the club in an attempt to identify any people responsible.”
Spurs ban fan who threw cup
London: Tottenham Hotspur have identified and banned a supporter who threw a cup at Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga during 2-0 home defeat, the Premier League club said today. Kepa was targeted by a supporter behind the goal in the 65th minute.
“We can confirm that we have identified and issued an immediate ban to the individual responsible for throwing a cup at Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga,” club’s statement read. — Agencies
