CoA submits AIFF draft constitution to SC

New Delhi: The Committee of Administrators, which was appointed by the Supreme Court to manage the affairs of the All India Football Federation, has submitted the final draft constitution of the body to the apex court for its approval.

FIH wants CoA to hold Hockey India elections soon

The international hockey federation (FIH) will write to the Committee of Administrators governing Hockey India, asking it to conduct elections and avoid “jeopardising” the men’s World Cup to be held in Odisha in January next year. The FIH’s executive board met in Spain yesterday, on the sidelines of the Women’s World Cup.

Karan enters 2nd round of Fencing World C’ships

India’s Karan Singh registered an upset win over Mao Kokubo of Japan in the men’s sabre event to enter the second round at the Fencing World Championships. The 23-year-old, who is seeded 61st, beat the 14th-seeded Kokubo 15-11. Karan will next face defending champion and world No. 4 Oh Sanguk of South Korea. Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski is set to join Barcelona after the two clubs reached an agreement in principle on the transfer, the clubs said. The 33-year-old has 12 months remaining on his Bayern contract. He was expected to sign a three-year deal with Barca. Meanwhile, Chelsea have completed the signing of Senegal defender Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli on a four-year contract.
