The IOA today announced cash rewards for coaches of Olympics medal winners. The coaches of gold, silver and bronze medallists will be given Rs 12.5 lakh, Rs 10 lakh and Rs 7.5 lakh, respectively.

Horse’s bad tooth ends dressage dream

Why the long face? Simple. A puss-filled horse tooth has ended Victoria Max-Theurer’s Olympics dressage dreams. The Austrian’s 11-year-old horse, Abegglen NRW, had been behaving strangely in training and, while the opening ceremony was under way on Friday night, a health check and x-Ray revealed a tooth infection.
