Covid positive Milkha Singh admitted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali

Flying Sikh Milkha Singh, 91, who had tested positive for Covid-19, was admitted to the Fortis Hospital Mohali on Monday.

A statement from a team of doctors treating him said he had been admitted to the hospital's Intensive Care Unit earlier in the day.

“Mr Milkha Singh was admitted at Fortis Hospital, Mohali in the Intensive Care Unit on 24th May 2021 with Covid pneumonia. He is stable and presently on low flow oxygen and medical management," the official statement said.

Milkha Singh had tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday and he had home quarantined himself.

The veteran Olympian is learnt to be having fever since Wednesday night. Earlier PGIMER had sent an attendant along with oxygen facilities to look after him. Milkha’s wife Nirmal Kaur, 82, had stated that her husband had not been vaccinated yet.
