Weightlifter Jeremy finishes 4th in world junior championships

India’s teenage weightlifting sensation Jeremy Lalrinnunga missed the podium in the junior World Championships here today. The 18-year-old, who suffered a knee injury at the Asian Championships here last month, lifted 135kg in snatch and 165kg in clean and jerk for a total of 300kg, missing out on a third-place finish by 1kg in the 67kg division. Jeremy’s effort at the Olympics qualifying event was far from his personal best of 140kg in snatch and 167kg in clean and jerk. — Agencies
