Vasco: FC Goa picked up three points in style as they staged a thrilling comeback to see off Hyderabad FC 2-1 in the Indian Super League heretoday. Aridane Santana (58th minute) put Hyderabad ahead but Goa left it late and scored through substitute Ishan Pandita (87th) and Igor Angulo (90th) to inflict a third successive defeat on the Nizams. Goa climbed to third, three points behind leaders ATK Mohun Bagan.

Sumo wrestler, once world’s heaviest child, dies aged 21

Russian sumo wrestler Dzhambulat Khatokhov, who entered the Guinness World Records as the world’s heaviest child in 2003, has died at the age of 21, sports officials in his native region said. Betal Gubzhev, head of the body governing sumo wrestling in the southern Kabardino-Balkaria region, announced Khatokhov’s death on Instagram on Tuesday, but did not disclose its cause. The Komsomolskaya Pravda tabloid reported that Khatokhov had suffered from kidney problems. As a two-year-old, Khatokhov weighed about 34kg, and weighed in at around 180kg when he was 13, according to Russian media.

Frenchman Tsonga not fit enough for Australian Open

Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has joined Roger Federer in withdrawing from the 2021 Australian Open after failing to recover fully from a lower back injury. The 35-year-old has not played since retiring from his first-round match at Melbourne Park in January when trailing Alexei Popyrin 6-7(5) 6-2 6-1. The first Grand Slam of 2021 has been delayed by three weeks and will start on February 8. Agencies
