Harkirat shines in NPS win `

Harkirat scored 17 points as New Public School (Sector 18) defeated St John’s High School (Sector 26) 51-32, in the boys’ category, on the opening day of the Servo Youth State Basketball Championship, at New Public School (Sector 18), here today. Vaibhav scored 10 points to improve St John’s tally. In the second match, Vivek High School (Sector 38) defeated Ankur School (Sector 14) 40-19. Tejbir (11 points) and Arjun (6 points) confirmed the teams win. Nikhilesh and Gul contributed four points each for Ankur School. In the girls’ category, Sacred Heart School (Sector 26) logged a 24-9 win over New Public School as Stuti and Vanya scored six points each. Priyanshi scored five points to reduce the margin for New Public School. Carmel Convent (Sector 9) faced a tough challenge before registering a marginal 28-27 victory over St Anne’s Convent School (Sector 32). Vijayanti confirmed the teams win by contributing 16 points. Kunjal also added 16 points but for the Sector 32 team.
