ISL: Goa consolidate top spot after win over Mumbai
FC Goa beat Mumbai City FC 5-2 to go three points clear at the top of the Indian Super League table here today. Rowllin Borges (18th minute) handed Mumbai the lead before Ferran Corominas (20th), Hugo Boumous (38th) and Jackichand Singh (39th) turned the tables for Goa. Though Bipin Singh (57th) pulled a goal back for Mumbai, Coro (80th) struck again before Mohammed Rafique scored an own goal in the 87th minute to seal the win for Goa.

Europe’s ‘Big-5’ account for 71.8% of January transfer
Clubs in Europe’s top five member associations — England, Spain, Germany, Italy and France — accounted for 71.8% of fees spent globally during the 2020 January transfer window, world soccer governing body FIFA said today. A total of 4,108 international transfers were completed last month. Clubs in England spent $298.2 million — the highest in the world — followed by Germany ($206.1 million) and Italy ($126.7 million). Bengaluru run riot in 9-1 win over Paro FC
Bengaluru: Semboi Haokip and Deshorn Brown scored a hat-trick each as Indian Super League champions Bengaluru FC crushed Paro FC of Bhutan 9-1 in the second leg match to win 10-1 on aggregate and reach the final stage of the qualifying round of the AFC Cup here today. Bengaluru, who had won 1-0 in the first leg in Thimphu, toyed with their opponents from Bhutan in a goalfest at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium. This was Bengaluru FC’s biggest ever win. They now face Maziya Sports and Recreation Club of Maldives in the two-legged play-offs round for a place in the group stage of the continent’s second tier club competition. Bopanna-Shapovalov enter quarterfinals
Rotterdam: India’s Rohan Bopanna teamed up with Canada’s Denis Shapovalov to enter the quarterfinals of the Rotterdam Open with a hard-fought victory over Australia’s John Peers and Michael Venus here. The Indo-Canadian pair defeated Peers-Venus 7-6 6-7 10-8 in a thrilling match at the ATP 500 event. After winning the first set tiebreak, the duo of Bopanna and Shapovalov lost the second in another close tiebreak as fortunes fluctuated.
