Opener Rajat Patidar scored an unbeaten fifty after left-arm spinner Manav Suthar snapped three wickets as India A reached 123/1 after dismissing England Lions for 233 on the opening day of their two-day practice match here today.

Pacer Akash Deep picked up two wickets as the hosts dished out a disciplined bowling effort to wrap up the Lions innings in 51.1 overs. Dan Mousley (60) and Ollie Robinson (45) provided some resistance, adding 63 runs.

Meanwhile, the selectors announced the India team for the first two Tests against England, with wicketkeeper-batsman Dhruv Jurel being the lone new face.
