Indian men beat Pakistan in Asian Squash Team C’ships

The top-seeded Indian men’s team defeated Pakistan 2-1 to remain undefeated after four matches at the Asian Squash Team Championships here today. Saurav Ghosal, the top Indian player, clinched the crucial win after losing the first two games against Tayyab Aslam in a 56-minute thriller. The Pool A tie was well poised with both the teams having won a match each when Ghosal took the court against Aslam. He lost the first two games 9-11 7-11 before pocketing the next three 11-1 11-7 and 11-8 to seal the victory. Ramit Tandon’s win over Muhammad Asim Khan was cancelled out by Nasir Iqbal who levelled for Pakistan by beating Mahesh Mangaonkar. The women’s team, seeded third, went down 1-2 to the second-seeded Malaysians.
