Meanwhile, the Indian U-17 women’s football team suffered a 1-3 loss against Chile in its second match in the four-nation tournament in Aquileia, Italy.

Aditi rallies to make cut at Women’s PGA

Indian golfer Aditi Ashok made two birdies in the last three holes to make the cut at the Women’s PGA Championship here. Aditi shot a 1-under 71 to be tied-54th after the second round at 3-over. In Gee Chun shot a 3-under 69 to increase her lead to six strokes at the Major. Meanwhile, in Cromwell, USA, Anirban Lahiri missed the cut at the Travelers Championship. It was the third straight missed cut for Lahiri. In Prague, India’s Diksha Dagar overcame a double-bogey to make the cut at the Czech Ladies Open.

Gill retires from Safari Rally Kenya with engine problems

Gaurav Gill was forced to retire from the Safari Rally Kenya with engine problems. The JK Tyre-backed driver, who was returning to the global stage after a gap of three years, was a strong contender for the podium finish in WRC2. However, his car came to a halt after fine sand, known as ‘fesh-fesh’ in rallying circles, led to engine damage.

China not to take part in Chess Olympiad
