East London: The Indian colts defeated South Africa by nine wickets in the first youth ODI. After bowling out South Africa for 187 at the Buffalo Park, India chased down the target with 45 balls to spare. Batting first, South Africa folded up for 187 in 48.3 overs. In reply, India overhauled the target, scoring 190/1 in 42.3 overs to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

Srikkanth, Anjum Chopra to get CK Nayudu awards

Former India captain and member of the 1983 World Cup-winning team Krishnamachari Srikkanth will be the recipient of this year’s CK Nayudu Lifetime Award given by BCCI. Former India women’s team captain Anjum Chopra is the co-recipient of the lifetime achievement award for the year 2019. The BCCI Annual Award function will be held in Mumbai on January 12 ahead of the first ODI against Australia on January 14.
