Punta Cana (Dominican Republic), September 28
Indian golfer Anirban Lahiri shot a 2-under 70 on the final day to finish tied-6th at the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship, his best result in two years. Lahiri found himself 4-over after the first three holes, before beginning a terrific fightback to finish with a total of 13-under. It was his first top-10 result since November, 2018.
Arjun Atwal (77) finished tied-70th. Hudson Swafford (69) managed to hang in and fend off Tyler McCumber (66) to win the title. Swafford totalled 18-under, one ahead of McCumber.
The top-10 finish ensured a spot in next week’s Sanderson Farms Championship for Lahiri. He had the second highest number of birdies this week at 22 and led the field in putts per greens in regulation. In the final round, Lahiri made birdies on the sixth, eighth, 12th and 15th and dropped shots on the third and 11th. — PTI
