Liberals hockey event kicks off

The 47th Liberals Hockey Tournament kicked off with MSK Hockey Academy, Jarkhar, beating Delhi XI 4-2 at the PPS Nabha grounds.

Pawanpreet (14th, 25th minutes), Yudhveer (35th) and captain Gurwinder Singh (53rd) scored for MSK, while Kush Manjhi (15th, 57th) scored for Delhi.

STC Kurukshetra beat Sikh Regimental Centre 4-1. Gurmukh Singh (26th, 38th), Sunil (41st) and Manav (58th) scored for STC, while Jaskaran Singh (52nd) got one for the army team.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
