Real Kashmir bounced back from two consecutive defeats to beat Indian Arrows by a solitary goal to remain in the top half of the I-League standings here today.

Ivorian midfielder Bazie Armand scored the all-important goal in the 70th minute to the celebration of over 10,000 home team supporters at the picturesque TRC Ground here.

Real Kashmir, who lost to Punjab FC and Churchill Brothers — both away games — in their previous two matches, now have 18 points from 12 games to occupy the fifth spot in the table, while The Indian Arrows remained at the bottom with eight points from 13 games.

“It was an important game as we being critisized a lot for our playing style. Today was an important game and we are happy to get three points. We look forward to the match against Aizwal FC. It will be a tough but we are ready to face all challenges,” Real Kashmir coach David Robertson said after the match.

ISL: Chennaiyin look to dethrone Bengaluru

Guwahati: Former champions Chennaiyin FC will look to notch up a win and finish third in the Indian Super League standings when they face NorthEast United FC here today. Chennaiyin are currently fourth on the table with 28 points, two shy of third placed Bengaluru FC. A draw or a defeat for Chennaiyin in the final game of the league phase would mean that they would face toppers FC Goa in the playoffs. Should they pick up a win over NorthEast at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium here, a battle with second placed ATK awaits them in the two-legged semifinals. PTI
